Dear Fellow Citizens of Monroe County,

As one of your probate judges, I regard it as an honor to serve our community and especially those who are most in need of protection. My eighteen-year legal career has been devoted to serving others, especially the most vulnerable members of our society. I have advocated for crime victims as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for Monroe County. I have represented indigents and children as a court-appointed attorney. I have fought for the abused and neglected as counsel for the Department of Human Services. My varied experiences as an attorney, assistant prosecutor, appellate counsel, college teacher, mother, and now as your probate and family court judge have all been invaluable -- giving me the well-rounded background I need to help safeguard the rights and well-being of children, the elderly, and the disabled.

Since I have taken office, I’ve served the people of Monroe County with full commitment and a heart for service to the community. I’ve spent countless hours studying the cases that are assigned to my court. As a result, there is no other candidate who knows the unique challenges that the mentally ill, disabled, children, and families assigned to my courtroom face as I do.

While I work hard, I never forget my commitment to public service. Thus, for students of all ages, I put on educational programs to deter juvenile delinquency, encourage education, and instruct youth about the justice system. I attend, sponsor, and speak at events to raise public awareness about issues like child abuse, bullying, domestic violence, and abuse and exploitation of seniors and vulnerable adults.

As a result of my hard work and commitment, and with the unanimous support of my judicial peers, I was selected to be Presiding Judge of the Juvenile Section of Family Court, a position I serve in concurrently with my probate court position. I am both honored and humbled to have been given this role of leadership as I administer the Monroe County Youth Center, the Court Appointed Special Advocates program, and other programs involving families and juveniles.

I will continue to work diligently as a public servant, with the wisdom and experience gained in my personal and professional life, and with a kind heart and devotion to treating everyone with compassion and respect. I ask for your support in the upcoming election on November 4th.
